Here’s a follow-up from yesterday’s Bob Dylan. Kansas City comes from The New Basement Tapes, a supergroup featuring Elvis Costello, Marcus Mumford, Jim James, Taylor Goldsmith, and Rhiannon Giddens. They took unfinished Bob Dylan lyrics from 1967 and brought them to life with fresh melodies and a modern touch. I recommend watching the video here. I love this song in particular because it features the amazing, emotional, voice of Marcus Mumford (from Mumford & Sons).

Fun fact: These lost Bob Dylan lyrics were discovered decades later and turned into an entire album produced by T Bone Burnett. That guy has written a lot of songs!
